Moms and kids alike will enjoy this one. Set in a unique groove that blends various contemporary styles and sounds, it's classy and fun, but actually pretty easy to sing. It even gives you, the music teacher, a chance to do a little work with dynamics. Each time the hook is sung ("Momma knows"), a crescendo is indicated as the last pitch is held out.
While the subject matter lends itself well to performances for Mother's Day, the song is also adaptable for other occasions as needed. For example, change "Momma" to "Poppa" or "Daddy" for Father's Day. (from Music K-8, Vol. 20, No. 5)
